IRF640NPBF General Description
The IRF640NPBF is a power MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) designed for high power switching applications. It is part of the N-channel enhancement mode series and features a Vdss (drain-source voltage) of 200V, a continuous drain current of 18A, and a low on-resistance of 0.15 ohms. This MOSFET is housed in a TO-220 package which allows for easy mounting and heatsinking, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including motor control, power supplies, and high current switching circuits. The IRF640NPBF has a fast switching speed and low gate charge which helps to reduce power losses and improve efficiency in high frequency switching applications.Furthermore, the IRF640NPBF is RoHS compliant and can operate at temperatures ranging from -55°C to 175°C, making it suitable for harsh environments. It also has a high avalanche energy rating of 100mJ, providing robust protection against voltage spikes and other transient events.
