The MCP2515-I/SO is a stand-alone Controller Area Network (CAN) controller that interfaces with a microcontroller via a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). It supports both Standard (11-bit) and Extended (29-bit) data identifiers and operates at speeds up to 1 Mbps.Key features of the MCP2515-I/SO include a 2 Tx and 2 Rx buffer structure, programmable bit rates, error detection and fault confinement, as well as sleep mode support for power saving.
