The CD4017BM is a decade counter and decoder IC (integrated circuit) manufactured by Texas Instruments. It has 16 pins and operates from a supply voltage range of 3V to 18V. The IC has 10 output pins (Q0-Q9) which sequentially go high (from Q0 to Q9) as the clock input receives pulses. The CD4017BM has a built-in decode logic that decodes the outputs to prevent multiple high pins at a time.The IC is commonly used in applications such as frequency dividers, time delay circuits, sequential LED lighting, and digital clocks. It has a high-speed operation with a clock frequency of up to 5MHz and low power consumption. The CD4017BM is available in a 16-pin DIP (Dual In-line Package) or SOIC (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) package.
