65W PD fast charging solution based on ST VIPERGAN65

PD fast charging has become very popular in daily life, ST introduced the built-in gallium nitride (GAN) MOS compact control chip, the size of only 5 * 6mm, operating frequency up to 240K, ideal for PD fast charging and compact power supply.

 

VIPERGAN65 Introduction:


VIPERGAN65 is a high-voltage converter, built-in gallium nitride MOS (Gan MOS ), designed for medium power quasi-resonant flyback converter design, can provide up to 65W output power in a wide range. A low static power management function is used to achieve low standby power consumption. Feedforward compensation enables consistent maximum output peak power region over the full voltage range.


VIPERGAN65 also provides protection functions that can significantly improve product safety and reliability: OVP, OTP, OLP.Brown-in, Brown-out, and input overvoltage protection (iOVP). All protections are in automatic restart mode.

65W Program Description:


This program is designed for 65W PD fast charging, using flyback topology, operating in QR mode, can effectively improve efficiency, the primary side of the main control chip using ST VIPERGNA65, the secondary side of the synchronous rectifier controller using ST SRK1001, the protocol chip using ST STUSB476QTR , the output interface for the mainstream USB Type-C.
