The TNY290PG is a highly integrated and efficient off-line switcher IC (integrated circuit) designed for low-power applications. It is part of the TinySwitch-III family from Power Integrations. The TNY290PG is specifically tailored for applications requiring up to 36 W of power and operates on an input voltage ranging from 90 VAC to 265 VAC.This IC incorporates a 700 V power MOSFET, oscillator, simple on/off control scheme, high voltage switched current source, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown circuitry in a small 7-pin SMD package. The TNY290PG is equipped with a built-in line undervoltage lockout, which ensures safe operation during brownout conditions.In terms of functionality, the TNY290PG provides excellent energy efficiency, high power factor, and low standby power. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including home appliances, industrial control systems, lighting, and power adapters.
