The MCP73831T-2ATI/OT is a highly integrated linear charge management controller for single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. It features constant current, constant voltage charging with thermal regulation to provide safe and efficient charging for portable devices.The device has a programmable charge current up to 500mA and a programmable charge termination current that can be set as low as 1/10th of the programmed charge current. This allows for flexibility in charging different battery sizes and chemistries.The MCP73831T-2ATI/OT also includes reverse blocking protection, which prevents current from flowing back into the input supply when the charger is disabled. This feature helps protect the battery and the charger itself from damage.Other features of the MCP73831T-2ATI/OT include automatic recharging, pre-conditioning of deeply discharged batteries, and a low-power standby mode when the charger is not in use.
