Infineon iMOTION™ IMI110 Series Modules

Infineon Technologies AG (FSE Code: IFX / OTCQX Code: IFNNY) has recently launched the new iMOTION™ IMI110 series intelligent power modules (IPMs). This product series integrates the iMOTION motion control engine (MCE), three-phase gate driver, and 600 V/2 A or 600 V/4 A IGBT in a compact DSO-22 package.
This integrated motor controller series is suitable for various applications, including motors in both large and small household appliances and fans and pumps with an output power typically of 70 W. Depending on the system design. This series can even achieve higher outputs.
The MCE has achieved efficient field-oriented control (FOC) in sensorless motor controllers. The MCE also comes with motor control and integrated scripts, allowing for immediate use without any coding required by the user. Designers can use the software tool Solution Designer to easily configure and debug the MCE, making it easier to develop highly integrated, function-optimized motor control solutions and significantly accelerate time-to-market. In addition, they can quickly design specific customer prototypes based on the iMOTION IPM using two new control boards for the iMOTION Modular Application Design Kit (MADK).
The IMI110 series offers better electrical clearances and creepage distances.
These devices have excellent durability and reliability and have passed HV-H3TRB testing certification. Thanks to the sensorless single resistor sampling scheme, integrated bootstrap diode, and single-layer PCB design, the BOM cost of this product series is lower. The IMI110 series has been pre-certified according to UL/IEC 60730 (Class B) standards, meeting the application's requirements for functional safety. Additionally, comprehensive protection measures have been taken in both software and hardware.
Supply Availability
The 600 V/2 A (IMI111T-026H) model in the iMOTION IMI110 series is now available for ordering. The 600 V/4 A (IMI111T-046H) model will be available in early Q2 2023.
