Tunnel Mine Emergency Communication Solutions

Underground coal mining operations are prone to safety accidents due to the deep subsurface and harsh environment. When encountering emergencies, traditional communication means cannot transmit various information promptly and effectively.

Multi-hop self-organizing network system adopts self-organizing mode, which has excellent performance such as automatic equipment networking, automatic network healing, decentralized network topology, etc. It is suitable for building a stable network and providing wireless broadband access signals in the harsh underground environment.

In the underground tunnel, a multi-hop self-organizing relay base station is placed at a distance, and the neighboring base stations can be directly interconnected to form a network. With a total length of 10 kilometers in a mine tunnel, only about 30 multi-hop self-assembling network relay base stations must be deployed to achieve full wireless broadband network signal coverage in the underground working area.

The underground wireless broadband system, composed of a multi-hop self-assembling network, has an extensive service capacity. It can support more than 300 terminals to access the network simultaneously. Underground personnel carries handheld intelligent terminals with them when they work. They can automatically access the nearby multi-hop self-assembling network relay base stations and then access the ground dispatching command center through the multi-hop relay link.

The ground dispatching commander and underground staff can exchange various data information, audio and video information, etc., in real time.

Solution Design

Multi-hop self-assembly system has solid self-healing capability. If any multi-hop self-assembling relay base station equipment is damaged or accidentally separated from the original network, the rest of the relay base stations will automatically re-assemble the network. When the relay equipment at point B has an accident, the original network link at point A will bypass point B and interconnect directly with the nearest point C. The network topology will heal quickly, and each base station can maintain regular communication without being affected. The staff equipped with intelligent terminals can be dispatched through the platform dispatching system to solve problems such as equipment abnormalities.

Using a multi-hop self-assembling network system is conducive to improving the production efficiency of coal mines, improving the safety production conditions, and providing an essential technical guarantee for the safe production and dispatching communication of coal mines.
